Video Out from the camera goes to video in on the VSI +.
This Camera typically watches the general area, including the register, counter, employee and customer.
Most Uniwell Cash Terminals dont require the installation of an RS232 board, which converts the printer data to RS232 for the VSI+
Video out from the VSI+ goes onto the existing video system.
Video out to the monitor.
The EX option gives you two hard alarm outputs , to trigger alarming VCR's, quads, or other alarming devices for exception reporting, allowing easy review of exceptional sales.
The idea is whatever goes over the counter or bar "should be" on the camera/video screen ? if not then a "mistake" or "theft" has occurred.

Detection of Theft

This Covert System allows the user to record such events as "sweethearting", "No Sales", "Voids", "Returns & Refunds", "Shortchanging" and "Substitute Scanning".

"Sweethearting" - This requires an accomplice or sweetheart who loads up expensive items for purchase. The operator then rings up the items but charges a lower price than marked or does not even ring them in. This type of loss shows up later as stock shrinkage.

"No Sales" - are the most common exception. Some legitimate users are making change or correcting change mistakes. The No Sale should always be treated as an exceptional transaction. Towards the end of the shift whether the clerk was performing short rings, pilfering,or substitute products, they will have to remove the accumulated money before their shift ends. Therefore, it is especially important to check for all no sale transactions within the last hour of a shift.

"Voids" - are used after the customer has left the bar/counter and the same transaction has been voided. The money is still in the register and will have to be removed either then or towards the end of the shift.

EX Option Alarm Outputs

The EX Option gives hard alarm outputs. This alarm can trigger a VCR or Switcher to home a camera watching a particular Cash Terminal Quad or speed dome to go to a particular position when certain types of exceptional transactions are detected. This is an optional daughter board and must be ordered when purchasing the VSI unit. The alarm outputs are accessed through the DB9 connector, which plugs into the rear of the VSI.
