New System Governs Entry, Loyalty and Stock

Three Merseyside golf clubs are Britain’s first to install a new integrated system to control door entry, provide a loyalty bonus system for members and control bar and food stock.

The system is believed to be the first to integrate all three functions and is based on Uniwell EPoS terminals and stock control software. Liverpool based CPOS carried out the systems integration. Total Loyalty have developed the membership and loyalty that integrates with the Uniwell system.

The integrated system is now available to sports clubs and leisure premises nation-wide through Uniwell’s national network of authorised resellers.

Now also operating at Blundells Hill Golf Club and Bootle Golf Club, the integrated system was first developed for the old-established Woolton Golf Club in south Liverpool where it is rated a significant benefit by management and members. Access to the club is restricted to card-carrying members, who use the CPOS card to enter changing rooms and showers. Fully paid members can use their card’s £100 ‘cashless purse’ at the bar to benefit from a 12.5% ‘loyalty’ discount.

We were concerned about members reaction to the system but introducing the card has been no problem. Members have welcomed it immediately. We like the access security and it is easy to operate".

Club secretary Stewart King said: "Combining three functions in one is an important benefit. Security is obviously vital. We get efficiencies in stock control and re-ordering and we also have the flow of information we need to analyse members spending trends and adapt accordingly".

Gary Smith of CPOS who developed the CPOS system for Woolton Golf Club and other golf clubs in the area says the complete integrated package for Woolton amounted to a £10,000 investment, significantly less than the cost of separate systems.

Gary said: " The one card seamless system is appreciated by club members and another key reason for the system’s success is its flexibility to handle different loyalty schemes. Door access can be to three zones and further extended using PIN numbers. Uniwell’s Windows™ based StockMaster stock control software is well known in the hospitality industry as an easy to use system, giving excellent stock reporting and staff monitoring".
